Calling all EFA+ alumni!
We are planning an MI Day celebration for our 25th year as an A+ school and would love for our current students to learn about our amazing former students. The 25 Years of A+ MI Day is on Monday, December 22nd.
If you have a lesson or talent you feel could be showcased in an MI Day lesson, please email diana.soper@k12.sd.us

Yesterday the 3rd graders presented two performances of Disney's Finding Nemo Kids!
The students have been hard at work for the past nine weeks to prepare.
They worked on different aspects of the show in music, drama, art, dance, library, and in their 3rd grade classrooms.
We are so proud of these amazing young artists!
This show was a great example of our A+ model at work.
"We swim together!"

On Friday night EFA+ hosted the Science Fair. Students presented their science experiments, and many special guests joined us to view their discoveries!

2nd graders read the book "A Spoonful of Frogs" in the library. Then they tried their best to get little frogs to "jump" into mini cauldrons. They practiced working together, estimating distance, and making adjustments to find success.

Veterans from the VFW visited 4th graders share about the American flag and the symbolism of the different parts of the flag.

2nd graders worked with visiting Artist in Residence, Lawrence Diggs, while using visualizing strategies and observation techniques with visual art. They then made their own art pieces with overlays to tell a story.

Students in K01 did a pumpkin investigation to answer:
Do pumpkins sink or float?
What is inside a pumpkin?

Using analogous color schemes, fifth graders created arrays inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s “Color Study. Squares With Concentric Circles” and Carl Strommen’s “Like an Eagle.” Students identified fractions and equivalent fractions using their arrays.

Volcanoes, moldy food, and ferrets, oh my! The EFA+ Science Fair is happening on Friday, November 7, and we’d love to see you there. Get your entries in by Tuesday, November 4, and get ready to show off those science smarts.
